About Me

I am a registered Senior Social Worker and have been qualified for over 10 years.  I have worked in numerous settings including Stockport Council’s Adult Social Care teams and Stepping Hill Hospital.  I have a good working knowledge of the social care system and specialise in supporting older people and people with dementia.  I also have a great deal of experience assessing Mental Capacity in line with the Mental Capacity Act (2007).

I completed my Masters degree in Social Work at the University of Hull and gained experience working at Age UK and the Mental Health Outreach Team in East Riding.

In 2017 I completed my Best Interest Assessors course at Manchester University which enables me to complete Deprivation of Liberty assessments in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act.

I am registered with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) and adhere to their requirements with regards to professional development and training. (Reg number: SW45477).

I am also registered with the British Association of Social Workers (BASW) and follow their code of ethics (specifically written for independent social workers).  You can find me listed on their Independents Register.

Before training to be a social worker I worked as an office manager for a textile company following my BSc degree, at the University of Derby, in Psychology with Business Management.
